βThe functionality described in this article won't be available until the full feature release.
Conditional Approver Groups allow you to designate approvals for more restrictive Teams to Senior Management, or just put Department Heads in charge of approving their staff's Guest Requests.
But these are just examples; in reality, you can adapt the feature to any number of use cases that fit your organizational infrastructure.
π Prerequisites
In order to set up Conditional Approver Groups, you must:
Have a full understanding of the Conditional Policy Flow
Have successfully set up your first Condition Package
β Setting Up Conditional Approver Groups
The Approval section will be split into three distinct tabs:
General approval settings - These are the same across the entire organization.
External user approval - These relate to specific Guest Requests.
Organization approval - These relate to specific Organization Requests.
Both External user approval and Organization approval will present you with two separate sections:
Default approval settings - Apply to all Requests that don't qualify for a Conditional Package.
Conditional approval settings - Apply to Guest and Organization Requests that qualify for a specific Conditional Package.
Here's how you can create a Conditional Approver Group:
Navigate to Settings > Expert Mode > Approvals.
βChoose either External user approval or Organization approval (both of them function identically).
βClick on the + Add conditional approval group button in the Conditional approval settings box.
βYou'll be prompted to Create a group.
βSpecify the Group Name and Description.
βSelect the desired Condition Package (you can add several) and specify the members of your organization that you'd like to designate these Approvals to.
βClick on Create to finalize your Approver Group.
Your new Approver Group will appear in the Conditional approval settings box. If you have several Approver Groups, you'll be able to choose their priority by dragging them up or down.
Whenever a new Guest or Organization Request is created, the system will check each Approver Group in order of appearance (top to bottom) and utilize the first Group for which the connected Condition Package resolves True.
